This week is the first week that I am an intern with Salt Lake Comic Con. In my two days being here so far, I have really enjoyed being a part of the team that I get to work with. I am specifically going to be doing public and media relations stuff and am very much looking forward to the skills and experience I will learn. I am also thrilled to be able to work with so many of my fellow geeks and helping bring the best Salt Lake Comic Con event yet. I highly encourage anyone and everyone to take a visit to the Salt Lake Comic Con website through this link here: http://saltlakecomiccon.com/ and buy some tickets for September. I promise you won’t regret it!!

In honor of Star Wars day, I have decided to do a post about my five favorite Jedi in the Star Wars Universe. I can’t wait to see all of the new stuff coming out so that maybe my list can change in the future, but for now, I will take what I have.
Mace makes the list simply because of how awesome he is. He practices an awesome lightsaber form: the Vaapad form. This form is a dangerous one to practice mainly because it requires a significant amount of self awareness as well as the ability to tap into the darkness within you. Mace Windu is the only Jedi to actively use this form and not succumb to the dark side, which happened to the few others that tried it. When you use the most powerful lightsaber form and you resist the constant temptation to go to the dark side, you are one of the best Jedi around.
Now I know that Jaina and all the expanded universe that came before Disney bought Star Wars no longer exists, But Jaina is still on my list and I hope to see a similar character in the new movies and expanded universe. Jaina in the books was a twin with Jacen Solo, who eventually fell to the dark side and became Darth Caedus (spoilers, but if you haven’t read the books already, it is unlikely you will). She was named the Sword of the Jedi, very similar to how Anakin Skywalker was the Chosen One. Not only was she as good of a pilot as Luke Skywalker, but she was an exceptional lightsaber duelist. She was tasked with killing Darth Caedus, her own brother who was extremely powerful. This takes some extreme willpower to do, but she was able to do so. And for that reason, she makes the list.
Perhaps one of the most well known Jedi, Luke Skywalker is an impressive man. He is extremely strong in the force and has a lot of the same skills and tendencies of his father, one of the most powerful Jedi to ever exist. He is able to resist the pull of the dark side though and becomes extremely powerful and wise. I love how he is able to (at least in the books, which I love) rebuild the Jedi back up to be a force in the galaxy and also how much mastery of the force he has. He is able to learn how to use new force abilities quickly and master them almost as quick. Few have ever had mastery of the force such as Luke. I am excited to see how he is portrayed in the new books and in Episode VII.
For anyone who has played Knights of the Old Republic, KOTOR 2 or Star Wars The Old Republic, you know how crazy awesome Revan is. Here is a powerful Jedi who falls to the dark side, comes to conquer the galaxy, comes back to the light side, and masters using the dark side and the light side of the force simultaneously. This guy is amazing. One of my favorite Star Wars books of all time is Revan. I would strongly recommend this book to any Star Wars fan and I wont spoil it for you here, but lets just say that Revan shows how powerful he is against some beings of extreme power. He was extremely influential in the betterment of the galaxy for hundreds of years. I hope they make a movie about Revan, cause he deserves one.
Obi-Wan is easily my favorite Jedi. Part of this is because of the way Ewan McGregor portrayed him in Episodes I, II, and III. Throughout the movies, Obi-Wan was one of the few that was always true to the Jedi Code, no matter the situation. He is full of light, and is extremely good at what he does. He is able to go toe to toe with Darth Vader/Anakin Skywalker and come out victorious, the second time being victorious in a different way. He is able to feel emotions strongly yet maintain complete control over them. If i were to ever nominate someone as a perfect jedi, I would nominate Obi-Wan. I strongly recommend reading Kenobi, as it is also one of the best Star Wars books to date.
So this is my list. Who are your favorite Jedi? Comment below and have a Happy Star Wars day. May the Fourth be with you!
